Evaporative Condenser

PRODUCT GROUPS

We offer a range of indigenous evaporative condensers designed to handle ammonia, freon and all other latest refrigerants. Our products cater to various refrigeration systems operating in varied climatic conditions.
“Our products are designed with robust construction and energy efficient reliable component selection. Our modular plug and play units offer effortless maintenance.”

Conventionally, the condenser of the refrigeration system is either a plate type heat exchanger or shell and tube type heat exchanger. Circulating water from the secondary circuit rejects heat through an open loop cooling tower. The heat exchanger acts as an isolation point to maintain two independent circuits.
An evaporative condenser integrates the intermediate heat exchanger, secondary pump piping & cooling tower into a single unit.

PRODUCT FEATURES
Replacement product against conventional systems (atmospheric condenser, shell & tube heat exchanger + cooling tower, plate heat exchanger + cooling tower)
For ammonia/freon condensation at lower temperature
Ideal for various refrigeration systems and climatic conditions
Compatible with all types of refrigeration compressors i.e. reciprocating, screw, scroll, rotary and centrifugal
Combined and counter flow technology available
Modular construction allows plug & play installation for new and replacement units

Product Capacity: 50 TR and above

CLOSED LOOP COOLING TOWER
We offer range of closed loop cooling towers to suit your cooling requirements of various process fluids such as water, chemical etc. Our products can be operated for higher temperature difference (ΔT) to lower the process fluid temperatures in closed loop.
“Our environment friendly products ensures zero contamination in process fluids and allow trouble free online maintenance for your uninterrupted plant operations.”

Most of the process industries use secondary circuit with heat exchanger, open cooling tower and secondary pump for heat rejection applications.
A closed loop cooling tower integrates the intermediate heat exchanger, secondary pump piping & cooling tower into a single unit.

PRODUCT FEATURES
For cooling of process water, glycol-water solution, oil, chemicals, pharmaceutical liquids, machine cooling acids and any other process fluids
Modular construction allows plug & play installation for new and replacement units
Saving in operational cost compared to conventional systems
Zero contamination avoids algae formation
Suitable for lower approach temperature and varied temperature difference
Offering field erected units and turn-key solutions with supply of balance of plants

ADIABATIC COOLER
We offer a range of adiabatic coolers for heat rejection processes across industry applications. Our product ensures precise cooling for your critical process applications.
“Thermax designed  adiabatic coolers ensure optimal usage of water and process fluid cooling for varied production loads throughout the year in different climatic conditions.”

Thermax adiabatic coolers are engineered so as to reduce the inlet air temperature to the coil. This provides customers with significant reduction in the capital cost of the cooler as well as power consumption. During cooler periods or at partial loads, the operation is entirely dry. Only when the desired outlet temperature cannot be reached by dry cooling alone, the adiabatic pads are wetted with water. As the pads are wetted, water evaporates when it comes in contact with air, this process cools the air. Now, the cooled air is blown over the coils and the desired outlet temperature of the circulated water is achieved.

Product Features
Offers less maintenance cost as less number of moving parts are involved
Lower energy consumption – free cooling possible
No environmental impact (no chemical dosing)
UV water sterilisation system ensures a legionella free water feed
Process fluid cooling with up to 80% reduced water consumption
Coil always operates dry so there is no concern about scaling, resulting in, effortless maintenance
Engineered using high quality adiabatic pads, proven design
Adiabatic cooling for critical and precise cooling
Heat transfer area is increased by the use of high finned tubes
Product Capacity:  100 kW onwards
Fluid outlet temperature with a minimum approach of 5°C above wet bulb temperature.

DRY COOLER
Dry cooler is a heat rejection equipment where the excess process heat is rejected to the atmosphere. It works on the principle of convection and conduction to dissipate heat from process fluid to air; the process fluid passes through the tubes and air stream is passed over the tubes to carry away the heat; air streams are created by the fans mounted on the unit.
“Thermax offers two types of dry coolers – ‘V’ type and ‘H’ type based on the application or requirement.”

The fans can be mounted according to induced draft or forced draft type, depending on the application. The fans are of direct drive type, but options with gear box or belt drive are also available. The tubes which carry the process fluid are of copper or stainless steel with continuous plate type aluminum fins to maximise the heat transfer.

Product Features
Modular design of Thermax dry coolers helps in space optimisation
Highly efficient fin to tube heat transfer
Separates process side from any contamination due to closed loop system
Zero usage of water which results in:
–   Zero water wastage due to closed loop operation and no evaporation
–   No water treatment plant as it doesn’t require continuous supply of makeup water
–   Negligible maintenance cost as water treatment, makeup water and replacement of fills not required
–   No periodic cleaning requirement

Product Capacity: 200 kW onwards
Fluid temperature: 30°C to 240°C with a minimum approach of 4°C above dry bulb temperature.
Thermax can offer custom built dry coolers based on the application and nature of working fluids.

AIR COOLED HEAT EXCHANGER
Air Cooled Heat Exchanger (ACHE) is a heat rejection equipment where the excess process heat is rejected to the atmosphere. It works on the principle of convection and conduction to dissipate heat from process fluid to air. The process fluid passes through the tubes and air stream is passed over the tubes to carry away the heat; air streams are created by the fans mounted on the unit. By suitably selecting the tube material, 'ACHE' can effectively cool or condense process water, chemicals or any other heat transfer fluid.
“Thermax can offer custom built Air Cooled Heat Exchangers based on the application and nature of working fluids.”

The tubes which carry the process fluid are of carbon steel or stainless steel with aluminium high fins to maximise the heat transfer. Fin type can be L, LL, KL, G gin, Extruded fin based on the specific requirement. The fans can be mounted according to induced draft or forced draft type, depending on the application. The fans are of direct drive type, but options with gear box or belt drive are also available.
